Krista Zuzak is the Director of Crop Protection and Production at Cereals Canada. Since joining the organization in 2021, she has been instrumental in advancing market access initiatives for crop protection products and phytosanitary issues, overseeing the Keep It Clean program, and supporting innovation in plant breeding and wheat research. As the lead of the Cereals Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) Assessment Committee, Krista plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and responsible use of agricultural inputs in wheat, barley and oats.
Prior to her current role, Krista gained valuable experience in a crop diagnostic laboratory, where she focused on mitigating risks associated with new and emerging plant pests. She worked at the Government of Alberta in agriculture, contributing to emergency response efforts in plant health. Krista holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Plant Science from the University of Alberta, specializing in plant pathology. Her expertise in plant health and agricultural science equips her to effectively address the complex challenges facing the Canadian grains industry.
