Dr. Kevin Folta is a Professor at the University of Florida. His work in the genomics of specialty crops has led to production of improved varieties of various high-value fruits for Florida growers. He has studied genetic improvement of crop plants for over 40 years, and holds workshops that train scientists, farmers and industry in the nuances of communicating technical topics with the public. He has been recognized with awards in research and outreach including the NSF CAREER Award and the CAST Borlaug Award in Agricultural Communication.
