Managing Soil Compaction in Row-Crop Production

Soil compaction is caused by trafficking agricultural soils under less-than-ideal conditions with high GVW field machinery. Today, farmers are presented with multiple tire and track technologies to minimize the long-term effects of compaction – which compromise crop root growth and robs yield. This presentation provides an overview of shallow vs. deep compaction, and then walks conference attendees through a series of steps to arrive at the best possible combination of tire/track technologies and configurations for their operations.
