Kurt grew up with dirt under his fingernails in the Gilbert Plains area. Once it was time to make his way in the world he moved from the farm to Winnipeg where he found employment with Pickseed Canada. It was here that he gained much experience and honed his skills. His enthusiasm and aptitude were not overlooked, and he was soon promoted into areas of increasing responsibility.
In 2008 Kurt became owner and sole director, president, general manager of Imperial Seed a forage and turf seed company. Imperial Seed provides multiplication contracts primarily in western provinces of MB, SK and AB. Imperial has a new processing facility located in Centreport MB
Imperial Seed has also developed a dealer network across western Canada marketing forage and turf seeds with a leadership role in usage and marketing of cover crops.
As busy as he is, Kurt makes sure he has time for his renewed love of two wheeled adventure. With an undisclosed fleet of HD motorcycles at his disposal, Kurt makes good use of summer riding. Many short trips, but also a longer one with a friend makes for a good summer break. He is also a strong advocate and fund raiser “Ride for Dad” the fight against prostate cancer.
