Intercrop Successes and Failures, From Research to Field in Westman

Intercropping is the practice of growing two or more crops in the same place and at the same time. WADO has been researching the merits of intercropping many crops in southwest Manitoba. Scott will be discussing current and past plot research results and how some farmers in SW-MB have been fairing integrating similar research methods and practices on their farms.

Results and discussion presented include intercropping pea-canola, flax and soybean, legumes under hemp, relay alfalfa or sweet clover in spring wheat, corn and hairy vetch companion cropping, sunflower and hairy vetch companion cropping, and hairy vetch seed production in winter cereals.

I won’t be providing handouts or templates. However I will be offering an annual report possibly at the booth, pending us get a booth registered.
